課程概述 |
This course is designed to advance students’ understanding and experience of group work practice. Students will engage in small group project to solidify their understanding. |

Course objectives:
1.To familiarize the essence of group work practice
2.To comprehend group dynamics and group leadership
3.To participate in the six stages of group work
4.To understand fundamental methods of group work
5.To gain personal insights of group experiences |

課程要求 |

2. Small group project:

a. Group proposal: Design and develop a 8 (the junior high school) or 12-session (the elementary school, beginning at the week of 3/11) group. Please refer to appendix D and E as the format of the proposal. The group proposal (5-10 pages, single space) is due on March 20. Starting at the week either on 3/11 or 3/18, students take turn to lead (co-lead, observe and support) a group to experience the six-stage group process.
b. Group recording: Please refer to p. 542 to write the recording after each group and send it to TA as reference for supervision. This report is due after each group session. The section of group workers’ analysis should include the analysis of group dynamics and therapeutic factors.
c. Oral presentation: The small group presentation includes 30 minutes presentation and 20 minutes discussion. Focuses of the presentation are suggested to include: (a) using the unique group dynamics in your group to naming your task group and the group you lead, (b) overall goal/procedures of the group (5’), (c) analysis of your task group (15’), (d) challenges and growth of group workers (5’), and (e) insights/suggestions (5’). While preparing and present, your group is the leader for the whole class. Please consider how your audience could learn the best from you. After the scheduled presentations, the whole class will process the day’s experience for 30 mins.
